Samsung 25.5" Monitor
I have had a better monitor with Apples but when you look at the price of this monitor vs either a 00 or 00 for a 24" or 30" Apple the price has to make this a 5 star purchase. Head to Head the Apples win hands down. If I was heavy in to photography I would spend the money on an Apple. This Samsung still puts out a super picture at an astonishingly low price. I have two flat screen Samsung TVs that are great.

Finest Monitor I Have Ever Owned
The Samsung TOC T260HD 25.5 LCD Monitor that I purchased through Amazon is beautiful to look at whether powered on or off. When off, the appearance is elegant due to the black frame surrounded with clear plastic that has just a touch of red. When on, it displays a very large, finely detailed image whether it is from my PowerMac G5 (via the DVI input) or DISH HD satellite receiver (via the HDMI input). I use the included remote control to switch the source. There are a number of other inputs and outputs. The built-in stereo speakers are reasonably good-sounding.

My only disappointment in this purchase has nothing to do with the monitor itself. It was out of stock at Amazon when I needed it so my order (placed through Amazon) was filled by Tiger Direct. As a result, I did not get free shipping. I also lost a promo credit that had been placed on my Amazon account prior to ordering so my overall cost was about higher than I had originally anticipated. However, the monitor is of much higher quality than I had expected so well worth the final price I paid.

Big and bad
I've had this monitor for about a month now. I'm definitely satisfied. The color and resolution are great and it's big enough to use as a computer monitor as well as for movies. This is an excellent Samsung product.

Samsung T260
I've had this product for about one months; wanted to give it a thorough use before posting my review. BL: This is a beautiful monitor, not one dead pixel, and is my 26" monitor recommendation. Now, to be fair, my 17 year old monitor was a 19" CRT from Dell and monitors have changed slightly since then...lol.

Out of the box it is perfect in all aspects. I put the two pieces together; inserted the base piece into the bottom of the monitor, took off the back plate and inserted the power cable and VGA cable, and popped the back plate back on. The back plate is plastic but don't find this as an issue with the construction as I'm not playing football with the monitor.

The DVI, VGA, USB and power cord are all provided. The only cord not provided is the HDMI cable so if this is desired you need to purchase one from Newegg. There are NO tools required to set this monitor up.
Once the monitor was plugged in, I fired up the computer, Windows Vista 32bit version recognized the T260, installed the drivers, and then Microsoft's Update provided me the most current driver. Many of you may know that Windows Vista can be a problem with some hardware, so I was pleasantly pleased this installation was not like building a watch. The only thing which got me for a second or two was the USB ports on the back of the monitor did not work at first. You must connect the USB cable from the monitor to a USB port on your computer...duh...operator error....yes, I'm a short-school bus kid....lol. Because the USB ports are behind the back plate, if you swap multiple devices this could become a small chore. However, everything installed easily and quickly.
The aesthetics are nice with the black bezel, red rose lighting at the on/off switch (soft touch turns it on and off), and then clear at the very edges. These are very nice touches.

The only problem "I have" is now I need a new graphics card to push the resolution to the level of the monitor; another great reason to upgrade my computer.

I purchased the T260 from PCNation and better than at Newegg, which really surprised me and it appears to be cheaper at Amazon.com at the present. They had the best value after much research, included shipping and was received in 2 business days after placing my order on the Internet. Additionally, I received a rebate with the monitor.

In conclusion, this is a fantastic monitor, great 26" real-estate, 1080p and all the desired connections. I'm sure there will be some who disagree with my comments but there are people who don't believe in God....lol.

Seems like a great monitor so far
Ordered this monitor for 2 total (shipping included) on 25 June 2009. It arrived today (30 June 2009) via UPS very well packaged and in perfect condition. Took it out of the box and plugged in the power cord and the cord to the back of the computer, and it's working great. The only thing I had to do was turn down the brightness using the control buttons on the side of the monitor. It comes out of the box set to 100% brightness, but is much easier to look at if you turn it down to about 25%. Definitely a great value.

Pleasantly surprised
I bought this item at a local electronics retailer on special for 0. I have to admit, I was a little hesitant to purchase due to the unknown name brand and oddly cheap price. However, this 19" monitor really delivers! I a very impressed with the color, clarity and resolution of the picture. Installation is easy: plug in the necessary cables and install the driver from CD and you're good to go. I switched my display to the LCD and it adjusted itself automatically. This LCD has a max resolution of 1440x900 which seems to be a good fit - icons aren't too small, but not too large either. I actually could have gone for a higher resolution, but I don't know if 19" go any higher.

The LCD is black an very sleek-looking. Controls are easy to use, too. I have no complaints and am very happy with my purchase. Take a chance on Hannspree (also known as Hanns-G for some reason) - the price and value are amazing!

Especially with its reasonable price, the T260HD is easily one of the best multi-purpose, high-resolution LCD monitor/HDTV displays on earth.

The monitor in itself works fine, the audio is crisp and clear, when hooked up to a pc through dvi or analog you might see a slight glitch in the screen while booting the pc.

Excellent TV and Monitor!
I upgraded my 22" Dell LCD which was running with an external tuner, it just wasn't cutting it. I purchased this monitor at a great price after rebate, it looks great! Picture quality is excellent in HD. The only problem is the sound, its not the greatest but it does the job.

Good monitor, but not professional level
I've had this monitor for a couple of months now and wanted to share my thoughts. Overall, I like it. It's a beautiful addition to my desk, with the "touch of color" frame and piano-gloss-black base. Very pretty. I love having a high resolution widescreen 1080p-sized screen. The colors are vibrant, and the brightness and contrast are great. I LOVE the amount of inputs this has. The fact that it has a built in HDTV tuner is pretty cool, too. Also, I thought it was a great price for this size and quality of monitor.

It's not all wonderful though. It took a while to get the colors calibrated decently, and I had to buy a color spyder to get the job done. (Once calibrated, though, the colors are better than I had expected.) The real drawback, and what keeps this screen out of the professional display realm, is the use of the cheaper TN type LCD panel. I use a dual monitor system, with my other monitor being an older samsung syncmaster with an S-IPS panel, and the different is remarkable.

Basically, the TN panel makes the color EXTREMELY sensitive to the vertical angle you're viewing. Based on what I've read, the problem, is that on TN panels the R, G, and B pixels are deeper in the panel than on other types of panels. It's like looking at colored poker chips in the bottom of a tin can. When you're looking directly down into the can, you can see all of them. But if you change your angle, the side of the can might be occluding part or even all of one or more chips. On a TN panel, this means that the RGB balance is off.

An easy on-screen example can be tested by filling the screen up with a solid color. On the T260HD, it looks like a gradient! If I fill both screens with solid blue, my older S-IPS screen looks like a solid color, but the TN panel looks like a gradient light blue to dark blue, top to bottom. Even the small difference in vertical angle between the top and bottom of the screen are enough to change the colors. Standing up and crouching down to see the screen at different angles emphasizes the problem. Even my 5 year old son noticed this. He was watching me designing a website and said, "Daddy! When I stand up, it's yellow, but like this [sitting down] it's brown!"

Another disappointing problem is the lack of good tilt adjustment. Some of the reviews I read before buying mentioned complete lack of tilt, and others contradicted that. After getting the screen for myself, I realized the confusion. It only tilts UP, not DOWN! I have trouble envisioning a scenario where the screen would need to be tilted significantly up, but as I keep my monitors on an upper hutch-level of my desk, I really needed to tilt it down! (Especially because of the color issues from viewing the monitor at an vertical angle!) I wound up propping up the back end of the base with a few coasters. It's not a solution I recommend because it reduces the monitor's stability, but it's worked ok for me.

The last issue I've seen is the time it takes for the screen to wake up from power saving mode. If it was just a few seconds, that would be fine and I would consider it worth it for saving on my energy costs. But sometimes it's 10 or 15 seconds (it seems to vary), and that's just too long. It's usually faster to turn the monitor off and then back on. And, by the way, my other monitor comes on quickly so the problem is definitely not my computer's response time.

So to sum up:

PRO: Looks great, great brightness, great contrast, good colors (once adjusted, and when viewed at the proper angle), great range of inputs, good price

CON: TN panel means colors are highly sensitive to vertical angle, can't tilt the screen down, takes a while to "wake up" from power saving mode

I would re-evaluate my options if I were looking at this again as a new purchase, although I would probably buy it again if I were under the same financial constraints, because it is a good value.

Got mine in December 2008
Awesome monitor! Crisp picture, fast response time, DVI and VGA inputs. I use it for gaming and movies. So far so good 7 months later. Makes my MAG monitor pale in comparison. Actually the MAG is fading and I didn't really notice it until I hooked up the ACER. FYI: Make sure to set up your power options to shut the monitor off after a certain amount of time when not in use. My other monitor probably faded prematurely because I kept it on the screen saver all night.

Great monitor
This monitor works really well. Everything is as advertised. I was concerned it might not fit in the nook we had available for it, but the dimensions were perfect. It also came with nice DVI and VGA cables, something I usually expect them not to provide.

This thing is HUGE! like night and day from what I was using,.....and that wasn't horrible. Just wanted an update that didn't take up so much room. I almost think it's too big ..but my family LOVES it!

Acer is an Ace
"Just wanted" a bigger screen and the 9 price tag seemed outstanding.

It arrived fast and I had it set up in minutes and it basically is excellent.

Sorry for the short review, but this VGA/DVI model just rules. I believe that I have been inconvenienced by resolution selections or choices when moving this unit from Vista to XP Pro. This is more of a widescreen issue so no major sweat. Photoshop work on it has been accurate and eye-friendly.

Great Monitor
I purchased this on a whim, but it was well worth it. The clarity if outstanding, easy set up too. I've watched movies on it and I couldnt be happier.

good screen
I got it pretty cheap and was favorably impressed with the picture. I put in on a desk that's against the wall, without the base, and it takes up no space at all, gives me a giant picture.
I use it as a TV replacement, watch videos etc. on it seated 5 feet back and it works great. Watched the super bowl on it and it was like HDTV.
BEWARE that if you have an older computer you may need to upgrade your graphics card to use any widescreen, happened to me. If it happens to you, don't buy the card in a chain store where they will rip you off, try online.

Great Display
Bought this on a whim, Hanns.G is, or at least was not a mainstream manufacturer when I was shopping for displays. Reviews looked good on the Egg so i picked it up for I think 175 about 18-24 months ago.

Came with NO dead pixels and still has none.

Perfect size, though I might pick up a second for programming/design. With 22" you would probably be fine with 2 windows open.

Anyway, seems like decent color, though I have not played with the settings too much. Contract could be a bit better but what are ya gonna do.

I would absolutely recommend this product, in fact I may just get another.
