Day 3 and all is well

If you're looking for [...] quality from a [...] purchase you'd be silly to think you won't be disappointed if you buy. This should not be read as a slam to the performance you'll get from this screen. If you're looking for the maximum amount of landscape for the minimum price, look no further. This screen is intense if you've never worked on something this large. 5 minutes of clearing out the old hardware and cabling the new 1and you're up and running. Out of the box, overall performance is excellent. Colors are crisp and distinct, no uneven backlighting, etc. Graphics performance is good but then again, I am working from "real-world" perception (couple of DVD's and a 0 minute run through COH) and not generated benchmarks. Doesn't seem to emit any more heat than my two 19" ViewSonic's. I've not tried the built in speakers so no comment beyond this. Being able to lay 2 documents up side-by-side for stare and compare while running 4 Putty sessions all while sitting 36"+ away from the screen and being able to read every word.. that's nice. Knowing I'm barely into burn-in, I'll be back in a few months to update.

Great value monitor, does the job well!
This I-Inc 28" is a decent screen for the money, and it does a solid job when it comes to displays. I originally bought it for; 1) An additional monitor to my Macbook Pro, 2) a display for the Xbox 360, 3) to watch HD cable/videos. As a computer display, it does well at 1900x1200. It looks sharp, the colors are good (not great), and the light balancing is fairly even. Users have reviewed that the display is brighter and more vivid on the top 2/3 of the screen. I did notice that a tiny bit, but nothing terrible. Oh, I should also mention that mine came with 1 stuck pixel. No luck getting it un-stuck.

As a display for the Xbox 360, I ran into some frustrations with setting it up. I have an older 360 which does not support HDMI. So my only alternative was a VGA cable. When using the VGA cable, I was unable to get the 360 to work in 1080p mode. It seems that the monitor does not scale up to 1080p, even though it says it does. So the image was over stretched. Even while trying to change the V-sync and H-sync settings, I was unsuccessful to get the image to fit. The screen does claim it supports 1080P, and maybe it will on an HDMI-enabled 360, but I had to settle for 720P. I still think it looks great!

Lastly I intended the screen for use with HD Cable/Videos. I have not configured my cable to that room yet, so I cannot review this. But I have watched some HD videos from the laptop. It looks pretty good, some of the colors seem a bit too bright and washed out. I'm sure there are some settings I can change, yet it's fine for what I use it for. I have not tested the speakers. I don't have any use for them since I have external audio configured. Overall this is a nice screen, not the best I've seen, but size to price ratio is unbeatable.

Great Monitor At A Great Price!
I bought this from TigerDirect for only 0 and have NO regrets!

It's a wonderful monitor with no dead pixels and a bright brilliant screen! No ghosting at all, fast response and great for gaming! I'm owning even more now at COD4! Good for movies too, although really dark movies might not look the best.

The swivel and tilt work great! However it has a small lack of connectivity (1 HDMI, 1 VGA) and that is a little annoying but for only 0 I am was VERY impressed!

This is an excellent product which may fall just short of perfect. Bigger is better and that is especially true when functionality and performance come together at in a very affordable package.

Neither of the two I own have either dead pixels nor do they generate any more heat than the smaller 19-22 inch units from various manufactures in my office.

This is brilliantly situated product that is well deserving of your consideration if BIG is what you need.

Why is it not then perfect? If you need a vertical application, you'll have to find a way to mount the unit independent of its stand, but at this price point, I think this a very minor sacrifice.

The only negative thing I can say about this product is that now everyone in the office wants one. It was a good value from Amazon and they did a white glove delivery. That is, they didn't use UPS, they used a trucking company that called to confirm when they could deliver.

The color is great and you can have ALL your applications open at once, cause you have plenty of space on this screen. We use for CAD work so need really good resolution which this has. Our IT guy is a video game enthusiast, he LOVED it too.

I can't wait until the budget allows one for ME too!

I'm not a professional picture editor, and you probably aren't either. Everyone who has seen this monitor in my home has commented favorably on it, and I have to say that I'm quite satisfied.

Chances are, if you are looking for a terrific monitor at a price that won't bankrupt you, this may be it. I haven't seen any of the problems that some of the reviewers have claimed. Bigger is better, and I'm not complaining.

Well worth the risk, DO IT !
After using dual monitors for the last ten years it is such a relief to be able to use just one again. Not having that line in the middle is great! It Plays HD full screen and everything fits.

I actually keep some windows like email, web and word.doc about 1/2 size and centered. Most web pages are not designed to expand to HD size and some programs work better in smaller windows.

With 3D modeling, animation, video editing and graphics you give up a tiny bit of detail moving from a CRT but what you get in return is so worth it. I can finally fit everything in one monitor, see it and use it.

Being able to see more of your 3D model and get closer to it helps a lot. This ability is invaluable. This monitor is like having four full screen views of a quad and when switching to single screen you see everything and more. What a pleasure! You can see so much more of what you are doing. It makes the creation process go so much faster.

I would like to be able to remove the base of the monitor as my desk is the perfect height for viewing and resting my elbows. You wouldn't think 3-7 inches would make a difference but it does. I might have to cut the desk legs down or break the base off. Not sure which way to go with that yet.

I am glad the speakers are build in but would rather have a smaller frame. The frame would look better a a flat black rather than a shiny reflective gloss black.

The menu is a bit limited and I have not grasped why some features are grayed out when you try to use them. Not a lot of adjustment is necessary as it works just fine.

I had some trouble with HDMI out from the video card to HDMI in on the monitor. It pushes the image off screen 2 inches on all sides. So plan to use the dvi/vga input cable instead. This was with the Nvidia 9800 GX2. Maybe HDMI input works with other video cards?

With a blank screen and a solid color you can see a c shaped gradient on all sides from a distance; however, when up close as in normal use with a program open everything appears as a solid color. I am not sure why this happens?

Many years ago I paid 0 each for two 17 inch flat screen CRTs and many years after that, 600 each for two 19 inch CRTs before I purchased this one 28 inch wonder. I was scared to do it. I almost purchased two 20s for 250 each but took a gamble on this one. It was a little weird getting used to one monitor again but EVERYTHING is so much better. I will never go back to dual monitors again !!

I am looking forward to the 2K version . . .

Difficulty obtaining native resolution (1680X1050)
I just purchased the Hannsg 22" hi221. I am fairly impressed with the monitor. However, i'm frustrated by the fact that even though I'm using XP and have updated my graphics drivers, I still can't get the monitor to display correctly(1680 by 1050). if anyone has any suggestions, I'm more than willing to listen. But otherwise, this seems to be a great monitor

Great Buy!
I just got this for Christmas and Only beef I have with it that it doesn't come with the DVI cable only VGA. This is the only reason I took a star from the review because have to go out and purchase a dollar cable that should be included. Other than that I love it a HUGE upgrade from my former screens 17" and 15" replacement for 17 due to dead pixels. I recieved this in mint condition no dead pixels packaged very very well and recieved 4 days early even though I had to wait till christmas. =P

It is as good as other big name LCD monitors, but is about 0 less expensive.

good:
* It has both digital and analog inputs.
* It has build in speakers.
* Nice looking.
* Good build.

bad:
* Speakers are not loud enough.

Doesn't like 1280x1024 out of my Nvidia FX 5200 but nice monitor
I'm quite pleased with this monitor... aside from the fact that I'm going to have to go buy a new video card. My 21" CRT that this monitor is supposed to replace happily accepts the FX5200's 1280x1024 output, but the HANNS-G doesn't like it... not via DVI output and not via analog VGA.

I haven't been able to figure out what it doesn't like about it. I can run resolutions up to 1024x768 via DVI and VGA just fine on it.

When you get yours home, I suggest that you quickly change the color settings on the LCD. The default is 50% across the board. But most people I know prefer 9300K... which is a far cry from that. At the 50% default I also notice that the LCD is WAY to bright... even if you turn the brightness down.

(Who'd have ever thought we'd be complaining about an LCD being TOO bright?!?)

All in all, I'm happy with it so far.

Overall it's a good one, but I got a small problem.
I got this LCD from other website company today. So far, it is pretty good. However I got a problem with it. For some reason, I am not able to use the DVI (digital input) of this LCD. A DVI cable comes with the box, but the LCD doesn't get signal from my computer. Don't know what's wrong. Did anybody else get the same problem ever before?

Just an hour ago, piece of the screen(about 15% of total screen)shows up red color. It sucks. I'v decided to return it.

Great No-Frills Monitor
I got this monitor for general business and graphics applications, and so far am very pleased with the purchase.
* It's fast and has a very sharp picture, yet does not strain the eyes with extended use.
* It's very thin and generates very little heat (i.e. energy efficient).
* One issue came up when I tried to adjust the settings with a contrast grid. I could not separate the 2 lightest stripes with any combination of Brightness and Contrast -- meaning that a shade lighter than 5% gray will appear the same as white. However, this issue does not have a visible effect on the applications I used so far.
* The control buttons are labeled black-on-black, and are thus unreadable. However, once you get it adjusted, the monitor works beautifully, and is a great value.

A fantastic bargain.
My monitor is the HU196D model, and I also purchased it with a big rebate. I'd spent months carefully researching different 19" LCD monitors, looking at them in stores and reading reviews. Then I saw this odd HANNS-G monnitor online at a great price and like an idiot I took the plunge.
Well, to my relief the company is real, the monitor is first-rate, and the bargain is fantastic. This monitor has DVI input as well as VGA, is fast enough for games, seems perfectly happy at 1280 x 1024 pixels, and even looks sharp when it's turned off. This is a brand to watch, and they are obviously pricing their stuff cheap to get a foothold in this market. For me buying this monitor was a gamble where I won. What a relief!

Cheap LCD
About what you'd expect. It's got built in speakers, but naturally they sound like crap. They are ok if you just want to listen to language learning tapes or speeches, but I wouldn't recommend them for music.

The picture quality is ok, but the screen has a noticebly glowing black. I tried fiddling with the picture settings but couldn't get rid of it. It has the standard controls for "contrast" "brightness" and "R, G, B" like you'd expect.

The screen will fade or darken, but still be visible, if you don't look at it head on. You might need to put a book under it or something to get it at eye-level.

Also, the power button is right in the middle, instead of to one side like a lot of monitors and tvs, so you may miss it occasionally in the dark.

Good quality.Good price.but wish there were more colors for choosing except black only.

A purchase you will not regret. The unit has excellent specs regardless of the LOW PRICE. I have found the graphics to be well within requirments, providing both a great gaming experiences and a rich work enviroment.

Fantastic monitor for the money
I have been putting off buying an LCD monitor until I saw the price, 8 ms response and the three year warranty. Received it much faster than I expected and have been extremely happy with it. Came with the VGA and DVI cables but don't have a DVI card installed which will be my next purchase. The colors are fantastic with clear pictures. No dead pixels which seems to be normal with other brands. Can't go wrong with this one.

Forget about the built in speakers for quality sound, buy yourself a quality set of speakers.
